I acquired two baby ducklings today, one hatched last night and another hatched last week. Both appear happy and healthy. I have a very nice brooder set-up, with a heat lamp to maintain the temp around 90 degrees (a little less, because it's HOT here in RI right now). My problem is that a friend has an emergency, and asked that I stay at her house for the night. I don't want to leave the ducks alone on their first night, so I brought them with me...do you think they will be okay without a heat lamp for the night? I brought it with me, but I'm having a hard time finding a safe place for it. The ducks seem to be comfortable, no loud chirping, and they are moving freely around the pen I brought them in.
What do you guys think?
