Newbie and Concern Over molting and pecking

You could try making a non-rolling treat dispenser from the centre of a toilet roll. Pinch one end flat, fold it over to seal it, add your treats, and then pinch the other end flat and fold over. The second fold needs to be at a right angle to the first, so you end up with a triangular tube like this. Bodge holes in it until the appropriate amount of treat comes out when an appropriate amount of force is applied.

Whether you need more than one would depend on how nicely they play with it. Shoving and shouting and dirty looks are fine, pecking is not.

I would love to try a roly poly treat dispenser with mine. How would you make them? Also, do I need more that one, to prevent squabbles.

Here's how I made mine. You need a semi-rigid plastic drink container with removable top. Drill several 3/8-1/2 inch holes around the dispenser. Fill with mealworms, corn whatever and toss it to the girls. Once you show them how it works they will have a 'football' game on!

Thank You boskelli. Appreciate your help. Found the Poultry dusting stuff ant Tractor Supply. I need to find a good source for my supplies like this on line. There are just very few sources in this part of Florida with stuff like this for chickens. Now if it is horses or cows, that is another matter.
