Newbie Chicken Mom!

Hello, and welcome to BYC.

Welcome to BYC! Penny will be just fine without Snuffy. Trust me, she will move on. And if Snuffy is making you uncomfortable with his behavior, it is best that he goes. He may turn out to be human aggressive.

What Jed said. Realistically you do not need any roosters.

Thanks Jed. They used to be cute and want me around! Now I don’t like when they act that way to me but I surely don’t stand for it either. Haha Suppose I figured that I’d best leave it alone since he will be gone soon....
Good for you! I also agree with Sourland, in that you do not need any roosters if you do not want to keep the one. You have to decided what is best for you. The chickens are guests, not the other way around.

If Snuffy has attacked you, then I would warn the people that want him. But if it's just a feeling, then no, I think you are okay in just letting him go.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Sending the boys off to different homes is fine. You can try to keep the best cockerel but you don't need any of them.

We decided to keep the one because of the predators in our area and our goal is to free range as much as possible. Plus he’s kind of ugly and a good boy. The other two are as well but would be best suited with someone who actually wants them for the same thing.

All the boys can do is try to send out an appropriate alert when they see a threat to give the flock a chance to get to cover. They do tend to see lots of things as threats that aren't and so you get a bit of "Chicken Little, the sky is falling" syndrome going on with the flock. You will still lose birds to predators when you free range.
