Hello all! I am anxiously awaiting my first ever chicks to come in (June 17th)! Im super excited to have found this forum, there seems to be an overwhelming amount of great information!
I have a mix of six chicks reserved: two cuckoo marans two dominiques one speckled sussex and one liver laced wyandotte. Narrowing down what breeds I wanted and still could find was a challenge. There are still a few more out there that I NEED. lol!
We are building a coop and it feels huge (6x8 floor space with nest boxes hanging over the side) but room to grow!
I am excited that I won't have to stare at egg cartons at the store hoping that the packages aren't lying about their hens having a good life. We just bought our home at the end of last year and I wasn't expecting to be able to get into chickens until next year. My garden is planted and we are at a place that I think it wont be too overwhelming.
We have a dog and a cat and are hoping everyone will be able to free range together on the weekends
I can't wait to share everyone's stories and contribute where I can!
