What lucky clucks you have! They look totally regal coming down their walk, and I love the picture too!!

I love that your run is so roomy! Your little birds look quite happy "walking the plank" there...lol. That's nice that you found so many bargains

Post more pics after you get the siding on!! Would love to see the updates!

Thanks everybody for your replies!
The little metal things on the post are ladies holding bowls of fruit (but they look like eggs to me!) I just had them laying around (no pun intended) so I stuck them up there.
Someone had posted something about the plywood...will it be okay with the shakes we are using for siding which are made from pallets, or do we need to wrap it with something first?
Thanks!

oh that's great using the pallet wood for shakes! Are you putting them up 'board and batten' style? I saw a coop done that whay from pallet wood.

I'm not sure if you need a vapor barrier or not, I'll leave that for someone with more know how, but you guys are awesome!

good idea about using tar paper... i just finished my coop and i used tar paper for the roof and it was really simple... the entire roof was around 100sq ft and the roll was $50 at home depot... good luck.

Great looking coop so far. Nice big run. We shingled ours and used roofing tar paper over plywood to help with moisture. We are in Calif and don't get tons of rain. The only other thing we learned about using shingles was on the lid to outside nesting box. The shingles made it very heavy to lift. We are going to have to install some type of pulling system or change to tin roofing.

Make sure we get some final shots!
