newbie duck question

I'm considering getting some Muscovy ducks and I have a dumb question. Can you raise these with a plastic swimming pool? I don't have a pond or stream on the property.

A plastic swimming pool will work great for them. Just fix them some way to get in it. Oh an Welcome to BYC !!!

I use a blue plastic pool..I dont use anything for them to get in it like a ramp tryed that and they never would use it... they jump/fly/flap right into the pool..4 are mallards,2 are just white..Dont have any trouble getting in or out...

Do you fence them in..Is it advisable to have a shelter, coup? Thanks in advance

Your main priority is to keep them safe from predators so you need some type of coop and run that you can shut securely at night. They need water they can get their heads in but love to swim in any type of container and they need to be able to get out. They are quite messy but are the most amazing and entertaining creatures!
