Newbie from Arkansas!

Hello All!

I'm a brand new chicken mama in central Arkansas. Our 13 new additions are coming up on two weeks old now. We've got an assortment of breeds; SLW, GLW, Old English Silkie mix, Copper Maran, Australorp, Barred Rock and a little golden baby (can't remember what she is!). I m so blessed to have found a wonderful local breeder who has bent over backwards to teach me the ins and outs of raising chickens

I have three kiddos, all under the age of 7 who are so in love with our little chicks! They're great helpers and are so eager to learn. Even our lab/retriever mix has taken a liking to the new babies. We've dubbed him the 'Chicken Guardian'... he is always checking in on them and has even given up his comfy bed to sleep in front of the brooder everyday!

. What a sweet dog. We have a French Bulldog that would constantly watch the brooder but in NO way would she ever give up her bed

Awe, I probably should move his bed near the brooder! I guess I've just been waiting for him to go back to my daughter's room to sleep
