G'day there,
Im a thirty-something father of 3 little ones, we have a kelpie and a guinea pig.
We just moved into an acreage, always lived in suburbia before.. but wife and I have had chooks and peafowl before.
My project to get a chicken coop/run built is well underway.. getting some day old sussex lights tomorrow, will be keeping them in a cardboard "pirate ship" brooder until theyre ready to go outside. I'd like to get guinea fowl keats soon too, but none are available at the moment.

About me, been in the Airforce and Army for nearly 20 yrs combined. Fly helicopters... but now "settled" as an instructor. No more deployments for me!!!!

Will try to post some pics soon.
Regards

Good luck with your chicks!

G'day and welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. Your coop looks like it is progressing well. Sussex are a great breed; very hardy, friendly and gentle, and good layers of large, brown eggs. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in finishing your coop and getting your Sussex.

G'day from Illinois (USA) we have a large aussie community on BYC - if you'd like to know what they are up to, you can check in at "Australia, six states and one funny little island."

Looks like you have a lot of helpers - that should make the run go up all the faster. Very glad you joined the flock
