Newbie from Bedford, TX

Hey chicken friends! I'm Ashley from Bedford, TX, near FT Worth. I don't have any chickens quite yet but I do have a huge duck pond with about 10-20 ducks. A neighbor and I share the pond. I couldn't be happier to have it right outside my kitchen window.
I'm eager to start my organic flock and have been doing research for quite some time now. I have read Barnyard in Your Backyard thoroughly. Are there any other necessary books out there to give me more direction on raising and maintaining a healthy flock?

I love that book! The same group Storey's wrote a series that barnyard is based on. They are called Storey's Guide To.... Fill in the blank. Ducks chickens goats You name it! Best of luck!
