Hi, I'm also in Canada, Toronto! A complete newbie, just about to get 6 adult chickens and wondering about coops etc, keeping warm in this climate and many other things.

Any suggestions?

All right! This is my 3rd year with chickens. My hubby works in T.O. Anyway, what kind of chickens are you getting? Average coop space is 2 sq. ft. per bird. Are you building a coop from scratch? We built an 8' X 8' coop for our 1st 6, which was more than enough. Since then, we converted an 8' X 12' garden shed, because chickens are so much fun, we had to have more! You can find everything you need to know at this site. It's the best!!!
