Hey guys- I am Sara and we have 5 backyard chickens- Oreo (ancona), Sally (RIR), Kit(Black Austrolap), Ethel and Lucy(easter eggers)!! We finally have 1 laying - our RIR- they are all 22 weeks old. love this site, its so helpful.

Thanks!! My kids love these chickens! They tote them all over the place- I dont even want to imagine the heartbreak if something happened to them! They have made the best pets for our family.

I can imagine that. When our neighbours' kids were younger (about the same age as yours) they used to cart them round everywhere too. I think at one point they were going to take them into the blow-up pool but we decided that wouldn't be such a great idea

(Although have seen some fun threads on here about chickens 'swimming' in the pool)
