Hello,

Another newbie to the forum. I have at the moment 18 Isa "reds" chics running around my back yard. We had chickens growing up but around the age of 7or 8 we stopped raising them. Needless to say it's been an experience remembering it all. I have a sis in law who has helped answer some questions and I've been perusing this forum a bit as well. My girls (I have four) have enjoyed playing and learning about how to raise baby chickens. They chicks are about 7-9 weeks old and can be really funny at times.

Thanks for being here. Looking forward to participating of this forum.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Raising chicks is a fantastic experience and as you have found out lots of fun too. You are going to have some excellent layers there with your ISA Reds. Lovely to hear your daughters are enjoying them too. Having kids to help you is great fun.

Wishing you the very best of luck in the future with your flock. Be sure to ask any questions that you may have, everyone here to help and very friendly.

Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. Isa Brown is one of a number of labels under which some hatcheries market their Red Sex Links which are laying machines. You should get loads of large brown eggs from those 18 girls. :o) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your Red Sex Links.

Glad to have you. Also glad your children are working with you. It is an experience they won't ever forget.
