Hi all...anyone else from Maine? Surely there must be?
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Totally new, but diving in head first! We have 2 month old hens (pullets?), and we bought 6 laying hens so we'll have eggs...and just today my son and I butchered some freebie roosters for the freezer!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?18
(3) What breeds do you have?
6 laying Golden Comets
1 Light Brahma
And 2 of each:
Araucana
Barred Rock
Rhode Island Red
Silver Laced Wyandotte
Buff Orpington
Plus a rooster - I think he's an Araucana
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? Google of course!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? My whole world has changed in the last year - we just moved onto 13 acres, and after living on less than .25 acres for years, we're going all out with the farm animals - slowly.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. There are 7 of us in all.
