OK, so I'll admit I've been lurking for quite a while here, so I figured it wasn't very polite of me to continue to do so. When I google anything about ducks, I usually end up here anyway!
So as you can guess, I'm mainly a duck enthusiast. I was at a feed store about 18 months ago looking for supplies for one of my children's science project and while admiring the new shipment of ducklings that had just arrived, the salesman posed the qustion that would change the course of my personal history..."do you want to take one home for free?" I grabbed up a mallard & she quickly stole my heart! In the course of 18 months I have also had a turkey, 3 more male mallards rescued from the confines of a 4'x4' pen, and now I am proud mama to 9 mallard ducklings that are 2 weeks old. I incubated them, and I quickly learned that the hatch is a harrowing experience. We are also considering some chickens, but that will come later.
In addition to being a mama duck, I am also a wife of 14 years, a mama to 3 humans ages 13, 12, and 9, and an unemployed college student.
Looking forward to fun times at BYC!
