thanks for the hellos! maybe i should tell ya'll a bit about me.. In 2009 i got city chickens in calgary alberta and was fined by the city bylaw there. I kept the chickens and just moved away from the nasty neighbour who decided to call me in for only 2 hens to feed my children fresh eggs. I spoke with local activist Paul Hughes in Calgary and he and the crown prosecutor decided they would drop my charges and fine Paul instead so he could take the case to court. Some of you may have been following that case..The trial for the right to food vs Paul Hughes... He did lose that case but It didnt deter hundreds of local calgary folks from also getting chickens to show support for peaceful non compliance of silly bylaws
Now I live very rural in nova scotia and so far I have 3 white silkie hens, a black silkie cross rooster, 5 RR hens,5 wyandottes(3 boys one girl only 3 months old) a barred rock hen with 4 day old guinea keets under her and i am picking up 6 ducklings tomorrow evening which are rouen / khaki cross ..
