Newbie from Oklahoma

Hi my name is Kelly and I live in Tulsa. My husband and I started our backyard chicken flock in March. We came home with 6 buff orpingtons. We love having chickens. They are my favorite pets to date. Last week we started getting eggs. I feel like I am finding jewels every time I discover a new egg. So far only one girl is laying.

Congrats on the new layers! I'm sure the other girls will get on board soon too. If your hens free range, they might be laying somewhere else in the garden and you don't even know. We didn't know our chickens were laying until we found their nest under a bush.
