We're up in San Antonio, not as hot as where you are, but still hot and humid 85% of the time. We used the breed selection tool to help us get an idea of what would work best, and did a lot of reading here in the forums as well. Then when we ordered our chickens, we also looked at the site (we ordered from mypetchicken.com) under their "extreme heat" birds and compared the list to the "best layers" to see what overlapped.
