Hey all! I'm Jen and my husband (Kenny) and I are new to the group. We're about 40 minutes east of Raleigh in Bailey, NC.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I'm new to chickens but my husband has raised them before.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? We have 8 chicks.
(3) What breeds do you have? Prairie Bluebell eggers
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? We went with a more docile breed so we could interact with them as well as (obviously) have fresh eggs all the time.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I enjoy crocheting and Kenny likes RC cars/trucks. We just started kayaking too.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. Between the 2 of us, we have 4 children (G26, B23, B20, and G13), as well as 1 granddaughter who's almost 2yrs. We share our home with 4 dogs and both work in the construction industry, him in the field and me in the office.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC because my husband was already a FB member and he invited me to that group.
