Hello everyone,

I've heard of BYC for sometime and glad I'm finally able to be a part of it. I currently don't have any chickens, but I did recently acquire some quail(coturnix). I'm in the process of weaning out the males from females. I've had quail eggs as dishes in the past and can't wait until mine start producing.

Anyone else on BYC near the SA area?

Congrats on the quail! I keep Bobwhites. Quail are a fun bird to keep. Make sure to keep the ratio proper with Coturnix...1 male to 4 to 7 females. This will keep the males from over mating the hens and keep the hens from being too stressed to lay.
