Oh I'm so glad you joined here. I've been here for 2 years. Remember to put roosts higher than nest boxes. You will discover there will be a ton of accumulation of poo under roosts as they get older. I have since put poop board 8 inches under nighttime roost. I love the ease of cleaning just a thought for you.Hello. I'm new here and pretty new to raising chickens. I've had them about 6 months. My goal right now is installing roosts and a poop board in my new coop. I will look through previous posts for directions.

I have mine set at 13" under the roost. That helps the birds that are looking for a spot on the roost find one without getting their heads pecked and leaves enough room under the roost for scooping the boards.Holy cow they poop... A LOT!
