Hi Mike,

I live in Townsend, DE. I sometimes work down in Selbyville. As far as chickens go, I am partial to Delawares and Buff Orpingtons. Both are cold tolerant. I have only had chickens for a year so this is my first winter. The cold did not seem to bother them. Our coop is insulated. I can only recall two days this past winter when I didn't let the chickens out of the coop into the run. They didn't particularly like to walk in the snow. They would fly over it to a dry spot in the yard. I was in Tractor Supply in Middletown yesterday and they had chicks already. I was surprised. It seems early. Anyway, welcome to BYCs.
