Hello All!
I am very new chickens and I am so happy that BYC will be my helping hand. I have recently moved to Idaho from Calif and one of my dreams was to raise chickens. I have jumped in with both feet and so far I am loving it! Last June I bought a used coop and was given 3 Barrock chickens. In August I bought a brand new smaller coop and bought three 2 week old chicks. I never knew how much fun and entertaining my girls could be. Not only do they give me daily eggs, but sitting on the porch and watching them run, waddle, chase insects, take dirt baths and make their little clucking, cooing sounds is wonderful! I am in heaven. Now with the colder weather approaching I am currently converting an old shed into a bigger chicken house for all six girls to live in during the winter months. I let my girls out every day so they can roam and exercise and free-range. They pretty much stay close to home, but occasionally they wander over to the neighbors to chase their bugs.
I will be on this site a lot, I can tell already, LOL!!!! So much to learn to take care of my new girls
