Hello, Everybody! Yall have a great forum and we've learned so much over the past year or so. We are raising 32 chickens for the eggs and to make babies. We also have 7 little orphan rouen ducks. One of the ducks has become sickly and about a dozen of the newer chickens we just bought from the livestock flea market have some sort of booger-bubble disease or something. We are trying to figure out what they have. We should have known better than to buy animals from strangers. All the other chickens and ducks are doing great so far. We gave away our 4 turkeys because they were being mean to the ducks. Yes, we are new at this and still learning. We sure love our chickens and ducks! We are in a rural area of North Central-ish Mississippi. We have built two very nice pole barns with fencing and enclosures, it's a nice spread. It's not like we really know what we are doing but Heaven knows we are trying our best. Once we figure out how to do pictures on here we will be sure to share. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much for everything!

Thanks for the welcomes! We have all sorts of chickens. The biggest boy is Farina Two Toes. His name was Farah originally because we thought he was a she and his feathers reminded me of you know who. When we got Farina with the other 3 brahmas from the co-op in Ackerman they were supposed to all be girls but they turned out to be boys and before we knew it the other 3 ganged up on Farina and tore off one of his toes. He spent 8 months in the living room getting better and we gave away the 3 big meanies to the guy who took the 4 turkeys. We love Farina and now have two of his children. Farina has 8 girlfriends and he is very happy. Our other star rooster is Rico. Rico is about 8 inches tall(full grown) and I can't remember what kind he is but he and Farina have crowing contests everyday. Rico has 10 girlfriends.
