Just introducing myself! Our story is a bit funny... I am more of a rural / city girl and I married a man that grew up on a farm in MT. One day he decided that we needed chickens and rabbits for our girls to become better people.... I didn't like birds. Within a month, I was the one that was the most in love with our hens! We ended up with hodge-podge of chickens and one rooster (that was sold to us as a hen). We have a Silkie rooster, a Speckled Susex hen and a Japanese Blonde Bantam hen. I've joined this forum because our Bantam had 3 chicks hatch (oldest was to bring eggs in daily, but she secretly let some stay under the Bantam since she wanted chicks)... the first didn't hatch normally and one leg was sticking out. The other two zipped normal and are doing find but our first seems to have some hip / stance issues and I want to help it and just posted photos.
My husband calls me the chicken lady, but I think I'm just a mother hen. I am still learning, but adore my beasts and really hope to do all I can for our little special needs chick to get her / him the best chances and keeping up with the other two!
