Newbie From WI!

Hi, I currently don't have any chickens but I want to learn as much as I can about them. I won't be able to get chickens until
A) Our really old dogs sadly die

(the oldest is I believe around 14 and the youngest is about 10-11)
or
B) I build my own chicken coop (I would probably end up hurting myself XD, but hey its worth a shot right? expecially since my dad is pretty handy with that kind of stuff.)


So far I'm very interested in Silkies and Naked Necks! What kind of chickens are good for people to start out with? I have two nephews so I would need friendly, docile birds and so far the Silkies and NNs seem to be both. I would probably order then from MPC or is I can find a breeder close by I would get them from there.

I have 2 goats a pygmy doe and a fainting/pygmy cross wither, and Two kittens.

I keep rattling XD okay I'm done.

Just south of you a bit, at the bottom of Brown Co. Come join us on teh Cheesehead Thread! You might be able to find some local birds that way. If this gal built a coop while 5 months preggy, you can certainly build your own coop
