I don't toss eggs, unless they actually smell.
I don't use incubators now. MGG will have to answer that.

Yep. I also had a detached air cell chick hatch. It didn't pip the air cell, it pipped the pointy end. The air cell was still completely intact after hatch. It hatched just fine.Really. I had no idea. I thought the air sac had to be in the correct position in order for them to live.
Do you use a hen? I bet that works better then man made machines.I don't toss eggs, unless they actually smell.

Jiggly? Detached you mean? It can be hatched upright in a carton. Yep. Leave them be until day 14. You xan candle every couple days if you wish, but wash your hands before handling them, and clearly, don't drop them.Ok. So question... when lock down comes and I notice a jiggly air sac and chick inside what do I do? How do I place the egg? A just in case question. And another question. Day 14 is a safer day to toss dead eggs? Before that i shouldnt touch them?
That's great newsYep. I also had a detached air cell chick hatch. It didn't pip the air cell, it pipped the pointy end. The air cell was still completely intact after hatch. It hatched just fine.

That sounds awesome. I want to try it if I get broody hen. When my cochin gets older it might be broody. I will have to see. It's exactly 2 months now.I use a hen every time.
I have an incubator, but I hate using it.
So nice seeing a mother with chicks, and it's much less stressful & higher hatch rate.
