Newbie hatcher!! Bad eggs

Pics
Really. I had no idea. I thought the air sac had to be in the correct position in order for them to live.
Yep. I also had a detached air cell chick hatch. It didn't pip the air cell, it pipped the pointy end. The air cell was still completely intact after hatch. It hatched just fine.

Next time if I'm not sure I will definitely ask all my chicken lover friends before I make a mistake. Thank you and forgive me for my negligence. I feel a tad hopeful now.

Ok. So question... when lock down comes and I notice a jiggly air sac and chick inside what do I do? How do I place the egg? A just in case question. And another question. Day 14 is a safer day to toss dead eggs? Before that i shouldnt touch them?
Jiggly? Detached you mean? It can be hatched upright in a carton. Yep. Leave them be until day 14. You xan candle every couple days if you wish, but wash your hands before handling them, and clearly, don't drop them.

I use a hen every time.
I have an incubator, but I hate using it.
So nice seeing a mother with chicks, and it's much less stressful & higher hatch rate.
That sounds awesome. I want to try it if I get broody hen. When my cochin gets older it might be broody. I will have to see. It's exactly 2 months now.
