Newbie hatcher!! Bad eggs

For some reason, I didn't get notifications for this thread for all this time.

If you bought 'Americana' eggs, you have Easter Eggers. If you bought 'Ameraucana' eggs, you probably still have EE's.

Americanas are Easter Eggers.
When you buy Ameraucanas you will most often be sold Easter Eggers.

With the dark egg; are you using the same candling device, and is it possible it needs new batteries?

I had an egg go completely dark from day 7. Who knows what that was.
He hatched, and he's almost 6 weeks old now.

Don't give up on it.
Ameraucanas are not EE. Short of. EEs are a mix breed of Ameraucanas or Araucanas. Their colorations are different.

I'm afraid there is a lot of confusion on this subject.
Americanas and Ameraucanas are different.
Americana is a made up hatchery name used for Easter Eggers.

Ameraucana is a real breed, but sadly you often are sold EEs as well.
Does that make more sense?
I never said EE and Ameraucana are the same breed. Americana and EE are though. But even purchasing Ameraucana will usually get you EE, unless you buy them from a good, reputable breeder.

Yes, thank you. Sorry for the misspelling and improper information.

So this is what I saw tonight candling.
It's not moving so I'm worried.

This is another egg. Not moving. And I dont see veins. But maybe egg is dark. I'm not sure. Anyone say this is ok or probably dead. Took different angles since I couldn't find anything.
