Hi Everyone, I'm very new to the whole backyard chicken thing. I have a silkie hen and two roosters. I know there should be more hens to roosters but they came as a set. Five days ago we started getting eggs at one egg a day. I'm hoping to hatch them but the hen is not broody and spends all day in the run and in the evening the hen and roosters nest together in one box (not the one with the eggs in it). Will the hen eventually get broody herself or will the eggs just get too old to hatch? Should we remove the second nest box? Is there anything we can do to encourage her to sit on the eggs? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Jen
