Newbie help

Hi.

I picked our chickens up yesterday, two POL hybrids violet and pearl. Violet layed an egg this morning (proud mother) but iv no clue what to do with it! Do I need to refrigerate or can I keep it in my egg rack? How long can I keep it for before eating? Sorry for the no doubt stupid questions its just I thought it would be a week before they settled and started laying. Any info would be great thanks xxx

I refrigerate mine and have kept them as long a 12 weeks. Although some folks leave them on the counter.
