Hello everyone; first, I love this site! I have learned sooo much! I have decided to raise chickens for several reasons: 1. i love all animals and have always wanted to homestead my own little farm. I live on a small property and have wonderful landlords so let the little chickies come
2. I feel like this world is so crazy and nurturing and growing brings me peace. 3. I love love love the eggs.
I am not very skilled at building so I bought a coop kit on line; I do live in an area with lots of preditors so my concern with this coop is for day time protection; at night they can be lock in but during the day they will be in the run which is on wheels so i am not sure how to keep preditors from digging under it.
I have ordered six assorted barnyard eggs on line and a Sunny side up egg incubator. I am so excited about this, I think it is the coolest thing to candle your eggs and to be able to take a sneak preview of your growing babies!!!

Here is the coop I oredered,I will build a run exteding from it to increase their daytime run area.
Well, again, love this site and will update my prgorss.
