Hi! 25 year old Navy wife in San Diego here. Well, for a couple more months anyways and then its off to Spain
My mom has 2 chickens and I brought over eggs from the ranch I manage when her Orpington started getting real broody to see if they would hatch. 21 days later we have 4 chicks! On Easter day none the less! We are enjoying raising them, but mostly just watching them, it is amazing how instinctive they are and how their adoptive momma teaches them everything they need to know.
Rooster was a Blue Copper Maran and hens were Black Copper. One hen was Ameraucana, so I believe that will make the baby an Olive Egger. Right now they are 11 days old and we are trying to figure out if we have roos or pullets or both or none!!

and Welcome To BYC! How adorable! Congratulations on the successful broody hatch! If you want help trying to figure out if you have males or females you could post pictures in the What Breed/Gender forum when they are a little older
