Hello everyone!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
-yes! New chicken owners as of about 2 weeks ago
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
7 currently, all from the local TSC, 3 were straight run and we suspect they're roos (originally 4, but one died), and 4 pullets
(3) What breeds do you have?
3 barred rocks, 2 Rhode Island reds, 2 black australorps
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Stumbled across it doing chick prep and research
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Travel, beginner pottery, gardening
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Married to a super handy fire fighter who is currentky working on the coop. We have 3 dogs - an Australian Shepherd, a blue heeler, and a beagle mix rescue. I'm a veterinarian (part of the reason I ventured into becoming a crazy chicken lady -- will force me to learn more about backyard poultry medicine). We're having fun so far, but still trying to figure out how to rig up a run or chicken tractor and hoping we didn't end up with 3 barred rock roosters Also on the fence about the option of free ranging
