I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out.

Great pics and beautiful babies! :love If you would like to share more Pictures and Stories of your flock or other critters, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

@sylviethecochin thanks for the link! They’re between 2-3 weeks right now so I know technically it’s too early, but any insight is much appreciated :) View attachment 1303132
Not sure about #1 or #2 (their combs look large for their age, but that can also be a hatchery line thing) but #3 is definitely getting more white than I like. Cute birds all the same.

Do you have a plan for roosters?

We're definitely open to keeping one if he has a decent demeanor. We'll have to try to re-home any others (which I imagine isn't the easiest task) One of those chicks is about to earn the name Rambo- [he] comes at you guns blazing as soon as we reach in toward them

:welcome:celebrate

Glad you're here !

A must have for your poultry is a FIRST AID KIT for any issues that would arise. (https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/suggestions-for-a-first-aid-kit.1150128/)
It's definitely better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it.

Also, make sure your coop(s) have a proper amount of VENTILATION. (https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...-there-and-cut-more-holes-in-your-coop.47774/) Your chickens will absolutely thank you for it!

One last thing, if you're into gardening, feel free to join this years SEED SWAP (https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/seed-swap.1220129/)

Welcome to the Backyard chickens family, always room for more. Enjoyed your intro.
Your chicks are just so stinkin' cute -:love . 8 weeks is a great time to post chick photos at "what breed or gender is this." The folks there will be happy to help you sort them out.
