Newbie here!

Day 22 (actually day 21) no activity. Might have lost my hatch. Might try better eggs and dry incubation next. dubious about plastic chinese incubator. Might have to invest in a Hova Bator or TSC styro next and use plastic one for brooder(if I ever get that lucky!) The local junkyard has a beautiful insulated stainless steel refrig for a few bucks. Should I buy it and try to convert it into a larger capacity 'bator?

A hatch day of 21 is not set in stone. If your temp was a pinch low, they can take a few extra days to pip and hatch. So wait a several more days before you throw in the towel. You can try a "float test" on the eggs. Have you been candling along the way? Definitely stop by our Incubation forums for more help, those folks really know their stuff. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/incubating-hatching-eggs.5/

yes, I candled at day 10 and 18. Had to dispose of 2/3 of eggs due to nonfertility. On day 18 about 15 filled the shell with opaqueness. air cell might have been small on them, though.
