(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Not really. We’ve always had them since I was little. I know the general basics but I would really like to further my knowledge on poultry and genetics.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
17. 15 hens and two Roos
(3) What breeds do you have?
Splash Americana
Welsummer
Black Marans
Golden polish
Blue laced red Wyandotte’s
Cream legbar
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Very curious and sweet creatures. I love collecting the eggs in the morning.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Artsy stuff. Painting. Graphic design. Refinishing furniture. Pyrography. Spending time in the garden.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Happily married! We live on a 12 acre farm in N.C. With 3 dogs and 8 cats
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I’ve never been apart of a forum thing before but I’d really like to connect with people who have better understanding of poultry. I’ve known about this for maybe about a month before joining, found on google.
