Welcome to the BYC site. Have to agree, food is the very best way to work your way into a chickens psyche. And be patient, move slowly, and soft talking always works for me. I will mention patience again.

Thank you for all the greetings and tips.

The chickens actually roost at night in a cedar tree in the horse pen....and I don't see this old body climbing the tree in full camo to try to capture them!!

But, we have discovered that they have created a nest right next to the tractor tire in the tractor shed. (We now have 3 eggs that have been laid!! ) Upon my sister's advice, I have put a couple of 5 gallon buckets on their sides in the shed with straw. Hoping they discover and utilize them.
