I am new to owning chickens, but my mom has owned chickens for a couple of years so im familiar. I recently got my chickens about a week old in July. I have 5 and we don't know the breed yet. One looks like it might be a lavender orpington, another possibly a Buff Orpington, maybe a couple Wyandottes and a possible Red Leghorn. My favorite aspect of laying backyard chickens would have to be the joy of having fresh eggs but also a sense of learning where your food comes from. Some of my other hobbies include reading, hanging out with my dog and a Foodie. Its my boyfriend and I and his dog Jameson (American Bulldog). I am a Barista. And very excited for the next part of my journey in life. I found BYC when I was helping my mom name her first flock of Hens so I've known about it for around 5 years. What made me finally join our awesome community was me eating into my BYC adventure
