I'm on day 2 with my LG and this is my first time hatching eggs in it. Temp is holding great what should the humidity be? I'm using a indoor outdoor temp and humidity and just stuck the cord in the top hole laying on top of the eggs. Right now the humidity is 55% good / bad?

Forgot to add I'm hand turning and it's still air.

What day are you on. If you are on lockdown then the humidity is fine. If you are on days 1-18 then it is high. Try taking out one of the plugs to lower the humidity. In needed take both out. Just remember to raise the humidity back up when you go into lockdown.

Good luck with your hatch.

Hi, I am a first time hatcher with an LG too. We are on days 19 and 20, so when I was in the first part of incubation my humidity was running between 40% and 50% most days, some days it would drop down to about 33%.

Some say it should be lower than 55% in the first 18 days and some say that is good. Hopefully one of the 'pros' will tell you.

Good luck.

Since you are going the wet incubation route, it needs to be around 40% but I bet you didn't calibrate your hygrometer so you don't really know how far off it is. You mentioned that your probe is inside the bator. Can you post a pic? Most of the Hygrometer X Thermometer combos the hygrometer probe is inside of the hygrometer, the thermometer probe is external.

I calibrate the hygrometer and I'm off by 9. I put the whole thing in the incubator since I don't know what all the probe does for sure.
