Welcome to BYC Robin. I been thinking about getting some goats, I hope they are not as addictive as chickens are or my dw may kill me. Dutchman.

Ohh yes, goats are VERY VERY addicting, especially milk goats. my MIL makes cheese, yogurt, butter, icecream, etc....my hubby makes awesome soap. Like chickens, goats give back....I love that! Our little Nigerian babies weigh 2-4 lbs when born. They are just ADORABLE.
I would be happy to answer any goat questions I can. Below is a photo of our little Junebug.

Welcome, Robin! What a cute little one. We've got some goats as field cleaners. They eat what the sheep won't. They are just too funny, but bad. Nothing cuter than a kid. Hope for little bundles this winter/spring.

Ohh..Weeee.... Junebug!!! There is a guy nearby that I purchase cheese dip from. He sells at our local open air market. I'm suprised at how many different things can be made with goat's milk. (Soap!!!)

The babes are 2-4 lbs. at birth so, how large do the parents get with this breed?

My Nigie Adults get 50-65 pounds. They average 19-22 inches tall at withers.

Hi Ashley, Goatsies are doing great. We are starting to get baby bellies...so cute!
We are new at Chickens, so we came here to learn. I am trying NOT to get a dozen different breeds...they are all so awesome!
