Newbie in Deep East Texas

My wife and I plan to convert a tack room in the stable to a coop. We're still in the planning stage, and hope to find some "Sherpa guides" to help us climb this learning curve. We're located near Nacogdoches, TX, so if you're in the area and have experience you'd be willing to share, please get in touch. For our part, we'll be happy to share our knowledge about gardening in a greenhouse -- aquaponics, wicking beds and Dutch buckets. Thanks.
Welcome I love your intro, how cute you bartered your knowledge for the wise ones on here :clap :frow ! Check out the coop articles on home page lots of ideas there on how to modify existing structures. Sounds like a strong building, much better than getting cheap pre fab ones.
Questions.
What predators do you have?
How many hens are you aiming for?
Free range or out in run?
Send pic of tack room and we'll give opinions.
Mostly welcome to the world of crazy chicken lovers.
