Newbie in GA

My 10 year old daughter and I have enjoyed our new chicks more than I could have imagined! It all started as an Easter chick gift from my mother, and they have become our best pets ever. These are the first pets that have ever given back! A couple of our girls started laying about a week ago and I find myself checking the forum often for the great information.

Welcome from another GA girl! We live up in Atlanta and have 2 buffs, 2 EEs and 2 gold laced wyandottes. Our EEs are laying little greenish-blue eggs and one of the buffs started laying today. So fun!

How old are the buffs (typically) when they start laying? My Buffs and Reds were hatched around April 1st and we are very anxiously awaiting our 1st brown egg!
