(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

Don't have any yet. Still deciding which coop to build. ;)

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

None

(3) What breeds do you have?

Would like to have Bantams. My daughter wants Seramas. Maybe we'll end up with a bit of both

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

Friend who already has a backyard flock

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

karate, fine art, food allergies

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

2 kids 18yo DS and 12yo DD. DD realllly wants the little chickens. We also have a dog, a cat, 2 leopard geckos and a fish tank.

My husband works with the university. I homeschool the kids or kid now. 18yo graduated this year and starts college in the fall. O.O My mother lives with us.

My main reason for getting chickens is to help me turn the compost for the garden. LOL! My back just can't handle it. If I get eggs too well that's even better.

Oh, because of my food allergies I'll be needing to mix my own chicken food I think. I can't handle corn or wheat. :(

Glad you joined us at Backyard chickens. Seramas are a great breed. My friend has two serama hens as house chickens and also a silkie.
