Hello everyone! Super excited to start posting on Backyard Chickens! I've been lurking since November and we finally got our chicks in May! Sorry, lots of exclamations...just so excited to finally have the girls after talking about getting them for three years. We have a mixed flock of 7 with a Cuckoo Maran, Speckled Sussex, Easter Egger, GLW, SLW, Australorp, and Buff Orpington. My husband and I have three kids with two golden retrievers, three rabbits, a cat, some fish and now seven chickens! Its a good thing the kids are old enough to help with all the feeding and cleaning! Here is a picture of the "girls" falling asleep on top of the brooder after they figured out how to fly there. I am highly suspicious that we have a poser and that our Speckled Sussex is a roo, but that will be for another thread!



The Maran also looks headless, but I swear she has a head there somewhere, LOL

When your chicks are 6-7 weeks, you can post photos on the What Breed or Gender is This? forum.
