Got our chicks last week so they are about 11 days old. I have the brooder in the coop which is a block building with a cement floor so it's very safe. Yesterday, we found one chick out of the brooder and running around in the coop. This morning, another was sitting on top of the brooder wall. My question is when I should just take the brooder down and let them run in the coop?

You could take it down any day now just keep a heat lamp on in the night. There is a article on here that is called something like (I am not quite sure what its name is.), "Why to Toss Out Your Indore Brooder.'' It is good article for this. Hope this helps.

Are they the only occupants of the coop? If so, just set up an area with your lamp that they can get under to warm up as needed and let them roam the rest of the area. Just make sure there aren't places they can get into that they shouldn't.
