Newbie in Texas

We live in North Texas in a typical suburban neighborhood. We do not have any chickens. I'm just trying to figure out if this is the right choice for us.

I live in a very built up area neighbours close either side and I don't have any problems I even have a serama rooster although he does more of a croak than a loud crow bless him as long as you do your research into breeds and housing etc you should be fine. Be warned though chickens are extremely addictive
