Newbie in the Southeastern US

Hello! I stumbled upon BYC through the Reddit group and figured this was the perfect place to learn about chickens. I don’t currently have any chickens, but want to be prepared for when I do finally get some. I love the idea of increasing self-reliance and getting away from mass-production farming.

Currently, I have a small garden - all raised beds with a decent variety of vegetables and fruits. Ventured out this year and added two fig trees, two blueberry bushes, and two muscadine vines to my collection.

I am an avid crocheter and my background is culinary, but I switched gears and moved to healthcare quite a few years back. I love baking, have a sourdough starter that is just over two years old, and two dogs that bring the family lots of joy.

I look forward to learning from this great community!
Hello :D

You have most certainly have found the right place. We are all happy you came here.

There's a lot of friendly threads here in BYC including baking. Ron and your good self will get along just fine with with the sourdough. Which I really need to start again :)
