Newbie...Incubating Quail Questions

just wait and see ..it seems like it will either be fine or ..not make it ..a little time will answer that question.Yours are due to hatch now too aren't they? Be sure your humidity is up high enough that it doesn't"shrink wrap" but not too high cuz i don't know if it could cause drowning or not....not sure of ideal for that.
What do the experienced people say?

I have th120 Top Hatch Brower I am using as a hatcher, I love it as hatcher, the temperature was little unstable but I "Improved" my Brower by plugging it into Repti Temp 500R thermostat which probe I sink into one of the top holes in the cover. Allows for rock solid temp control temperature swinging only within 0.5F.

I 'd bet yours will hatch, perhaps late, quails are very tough species, also you measure the temp on the top of the eggs not on the bottom.

I took a wet wash cloth and put it over my eggs that I put holes in and they all eventually hatched and are doing fine. I thought your eggs were overdue. I ONLY put holes in to check the overdue eggs because I don't want to keep them in the incubator forever if they are already dead. My button quail were on day 20 before I checked them.

I did float test them. But it doesn't help if their is a dead chick in them. Float testing only worked if the eggs were duds. I can never candle the button eggs so I can't see if the chicks are moving in the eggs or not and luckily I did poke eggs before throwing them all out because I had 3 chicks hatch on day 21 after I had poked an eggs and found those three alive. The rest had died in the shell and were tossed out. So I think it just depends on your personal preference. I have also been told that chicks can die from drowning if you float test them. IDK I just do what works for me. Everyone always has different opinions on everything. I would never put a hole in an egg until they were way overdue and going to be thrown out.
