Now that I totally want updates on lol. I hear it's a bit hard. Not yet. Strictly brooding so far. Incubating ducks will start next spring.
Oh so they will be fine then. I've got 5 going in with the 4 chicks whice are a week oldI do it all the time. The need to establish a pecking order doesn't develope for months
The last pic appears to have a dark blood ring, sign of a quitter. The first one still looks viable to me. When in doubt leave them in unless they stink or leak.Well it's day 17 for my first batch of Brahma eggs candled them all 8 are still giving me the toe if you will when I candled them. I know ppl aim to stop running on day 18 but can you stop turning on day 17? Also I need some advice 2of my pekin eggs look uh odd I think they are quitters but not 100% sure I think I see movement but that could just be me slowly turning them to see what were they are. First 2pics are of the same egg the 3rd pic is of the 2 egg.
I had three groups in my brooder each two weeks apart. I did have to separate each group with a screen for the first 24-48 hours but after that it all went well.I had some eggs hatch last week. Nd now one week later I have some more hatched. Can I put these chicks in the same brooder as the one week old chicks ?
Thanks
