Newbie incubator/hatcher questions

Well the chicks are doing great (pics included). Just waiting on my 2 lemon brahma and 2 pekin eggs to hatch now (today is day 19). I have done all I can to make sure these don't get shrink wrapped but it might still happen. This will most likely be my last hatch for this year until my 30'x30' chicken run is done along with 2 new houses for them I'm hoping 2 10'x4-5' houses will be big enough ( anyone think this will be big enough?).

Sorry I missed the excitement. The shrink wrap happens when the humidity is to low when you open the incubator....I think anyway.
As for as drinking, dunk their beak. They are real good at figuring it out

I have my humidity at 45% for Silkie eggs. I'm doing a dry incubation for now. Not sure I want to candle the eggs. We'll see.

They got the idea pretty quick to drink lol was worried I might hurt them dipping their beaks. Ya I think something was off in my small bator as I always had the water tank topped up and all that. Lock down started last night for my last batch. Only 2lemon brahma's and 2 pekin eggs made it to lock down I'm hoping all eggs will hatch but who knows. Just hope this ain't shrink wrapped cuz it sucked not getting to the one earlier.

Ok so like I'm totally peeved the 2 pekin chick eggs would have never lived they had deformations of the head area ones head was normal on one side and deformed on the other the next chick had the lower half of the head and beak but no top part of the head an no eyes. I don't think this is down to incubation but genetics am i right?

No movement for a few days out of one of the lemon brahma's said sod it and cracked it dead and it looks like it failed some place in development. The last egg slightly pipped but nothing after 24hrs cracked it and the last brahma is shrink wrapped (well if I did not have bad luck I would have no luck) but this guy is alive and just managed to get a little bit of beak out so now it's the waiting game hope I wouldn't have to be as hands on with this one as the last ones.

Can anyone suggest how I can integrate 1 brahma chick in with 7, 1 week old brahma chicks? I know they are supposed to have heat for like 4weeks but these little boogers won't really sleep or anything under the electric hen even tho I have it set up high.. can it be cuz my house is already at a ok temp for them?

They will migrate to where they are most comfortable temperature wise.vI often have a wide age range in my brooders at the same time. My brooders are large enough to where the older chicks can get completely away from the heat if they choose.
